HELLO,

My career began in science as a Chemistry PhD student researching Homotropanes, synthesising chemicals structurally similar to the deadly Anatoxin-a (also known as Very Fast Death Factor) and drugs such as atropine and cocaine.

Following a career change, I gained qualified teacher status and taught Science before moving to ICT. I now have around twenty-five years’ experience in education and training, including the management role as Head of ICT Department. Throughout my career in education, I have taught and trained people of all ages and abilities using a variety of different delivery methods, including traditional classroom teaching, one-to-one training, eLearning and live virtual classroom training via web conferencing.

As a teacher, I used multimedia authoring software to create interactive revision packages on CD-ROM and, using my web design skills, developed these making the learning material available as standalone websites. I achieved the certificate 'Using VLEs in my teaching' from The Open University to further my knowledge and understanding of eLearning.

My extensive digital knowledge includes experience in video production and video editing, offering video marketing services to businesses. Digital learning tools have featured a great deal in my career and my expertise has proved essential in the roles as a Qualified Assessor for Digital Apprenticeships and a Trainer in Social Media and Digital Marketing. I am currently a Learning Technologist supporting the online delivey of Police Constable Degree Apprenticeships.
